On January 31, 2020, a new Presidential Proclamation (“Presidential Proclamation 9983”) was issued which added to the ongoing travel restrictions of P.P. 9645 by expanding them to the nationals of six additional countries. Additionally, if you are experiencing flu-like symptoms, or believe you may have been exposed to the novel coronavirus, you are strongly encouraged to postpone your appointment by at least 14 days. There is no fee to change an appointment and visa application fees are valid for one year in the country where the fee was paid. NOTICE FOR VISA APPLICANTS WHO RESIDE IN THE RUSSIAN FEDERATION: Individuals who normally reside in Russia, but who are unable to apply for a U.S. visa in a timely manner may submit their application in U.S. Embassy Vilnius. Applicants are not required to be a resident of Lithuania to apply for a visa at U.S. Embassy Vilnius, but must be physically present in Lithuania at the time of visa application and visa interview, as we cannot accept mail-in applications from individuals while they are outside of Lithuania. All applicants should include a local address in Lithuania – hotel, relative, office – when scheduling an appointment for a visa interview.
If you are a citizen of a Visa Waiver Program partner but unable to travel to the United States under that program, you have to apply for a nonimmigrant visa Please pay the nonimmigrant visa application fee, fill out the DS-160 nonimmigrant visa application form at and schedule a visa appointment. If your travel is imminent, you may request an expedited visa appointment. Please include in your request the date and purpose of your travel, as well as a copy of any U.S. Customs and Border Protection message you may have received regarding your ESTA status.
